‘Transformation For the Future’ DeCA Announces Senior Leadership Personnel Changes • FORT LEE
As part of what it characterized as the “transformation for the future,” the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) announced several senior leadership changes that will take place as the agency moves into the early months of calendar year 2021.
Bill Moore, DeCA’s director and chief executive officer (CEO), announced these changes which were set in motion “in order to better position skill sets against evolving organizational needs.”
Norman E. Brown, director of the Europe Area, becomes the director of marketing on April 25, filling a position left vacant by the August 2020 retirement of Hector Granado.
Bonita Moffett, director of the East Area, becomes the director of sales effective Jan. 3, a position currently held by Tracie L. Russ. Russ will become the director of Europe Area on March 14.
Ronald A. “Ronny” Yoder, currently the director of the Central Area, becomes the director of the East Area effective Jan. 3.
Christopher Lyons, DeCA’s resale and government affairs advisor, will also serve as the agency’s temporary chief of staff effective Jan. 3, a position currently held by Teena P. Standard, who retires on Jan. 2.
“There’s a common theme in these executive assignments: exceptional competence and experience,” Moore said. “At this crucial time in our agency’s history, we need to optimize our talent for our future needs, so we can best serve our patrons. These leaders have demonstrated they have what it takes to help us effectively deliver the vital commissary benefit our patrons have earned.”
Brown has been the Europe Area director since July 2013. He previously served as the executive officer to the DeCA director from 2011 to 2013.
Moffett has served as the director of East Area since January 2017. Prior to that assignment, she served as store operations chief in the Store Operations Group.
Russ has served as director of sales since August 2014. She had previously served as the deputy sales director.
Yoder has been the director of the Central Area since February 2019. Previous to that assignment, he served as the chief of the Store Operations Division.
Lyons will also continue serving as resale and government affairs advisor, a position he has occupied since Jan. 19, 2020.
