CGX Reports $3.46 Million In Thanksgiving Holiday and Cyber Monday Sales • CHESAPEAKE
From Black Friday on Nov. 27 through the Cyber Monday online rush on Nov. 30, the Coast Guard Exchange (CGX) totaled $3.46 million in sales, which CGX Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO) Samantha Bishop said was a 6.20 percent drop from the same period during the prior year.
Black Friday sales were $1.32 million, a 34.1-percent dip, but Cyber Monday was a big hit for CGX stores, generating a total of $817,635 in activity, a 70.3-percent uptick.
ECommerce activity also bolstered total sales, generating $105,654 for a 179.6-percent increase.
Bishop noted that top sellers included the Nintendo Switch gaming console; Apple Air Pods; Hewlett-Packard (HP) notebook computer; and 65- and 75-in. Samsung televisions.
