ALA Hawaii
2018 Daniel K. Akaka Hawaii Food Show
21st Annual Conference

Prince Waikiki
August 14, 2018

Exceptional Value.  Outstanding Event.

On behalf of the National American Logistics Association (ALA), I want to personally thank Sharon Zambo-Fan and the entire ALA Hawaii Chapter for facilitating another outstanding event.

I would also like to give a special thanks to Mr. Robert Bianchi, the CEO for the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEX), who attended and provided excellent discussion with all the companies that attended.

A special thank you to the Dr. Pepper and Snapple Group for sponsoring this year's show. We could not have provided the outstanding level of value without your support.

Most important, I want to thank all the companies that exhibited and supported this year's show. Our mission is to help manufacturers, distributors, brokers, media companies, of all sizes, to support and to successfully sell within the military resale channel. Already, we're seeing the success from these relationships. If you missed this year's show and want to make sure you make next years, just send an email to membership@ala-national.org.

Annual Show Offers Local Businesses Opportunity
to Sell in Commissaries, Exchanges

"This extends the reach, and because people do move around, word of mouth gets out and it takes off, so we're happy to help support these business folks as they support us," said Robert Bianchi, Navy Exchange Service Command CEO.

Booths offered everything from chocolate, sauces, baked goods, produce, meats, fish, and coffee. The hope is to... Read Article

Cashing In On The "Hawaii" Brand

HONOLULU (KITV4 ABC) - [...] For some new products, a familiar name can make or break it. At the Daniel K. Akaka American Logistics Association Hawaii Food Show, hundreds of products were displayed for buyers of the military commissaries and exchanges to see and sample.

Some are familiar, while others are brand new. But many catch the eyes, or taste buds, of buyers because they are from Hawaii. The state regulates the "Made in Hawaii" brand. It can issue fines to companies that mislabel their products, but does not require a product with "Hawaiian" or "Hawaii" in its name to... Read Article
